Google Plus : Massive Updates To Android App

The world is going smarter and so are the smartphone apps. In recent times we have seen some major and really good updates to the social tools, especially on Android. I am a normal Android user, but I do make it a point to keep all my apps updated, irrespective of how often I use them.
Back to the app updates, we saw recently some nice updates to all or some social apps on different smartphone' types. For example, we saw some nice updates to Facebook for Android and then Twitter went crazy with a few interface as well as feature redesigns and impressive ones. We did also see ApnaCircle (a professional network site and supposedly competing with LinkedIn in India) release their app for BlackBerry.
Google Plus Android App Updates
With all the social networks (and professional too) going heavy on their mobile user base, we wondered where was Google, especially since we thought we were missing a few things in their smartphone app that kind of stand out on the web version. Seems they were close by listening.
Google just released an update to their Android smartphone app which features;
- the most awaited 'What's Hot' section that seem to be quite popular on the web version
- now you can view who +1'd a post or comment
modifications to gather some space on the stream posts, they've been shortened to fit more
no more bugging from the top scroll on an auto refresh
- now you can receive as much photos feed as you like from your circles, no limit
In case you are worried about the What' Hot feature, please note that the feature could be removed from the 'Choose Circle' settings in the app. Also for those who aren't aware, the app chooses the posts in this section based on the number of comments and +1 the post received plus the freshness of each and the responses.
We at SocialCrunching think the updates were long due, especially when Facebook/Twitter already had related or same features.
Google claims also to have provided some massive performance pushes with this new update. We are still trying to see what difference does the updates regarding this makes to the app. Let us know what you think on these changes or if you face any issues with the upgrade!
Have a good time crunching!!
